About Walden Point Walden Point was developed using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program and is located across the street from Mercy Hospital, one of the largest health care providers in the Des Moines metropolitan area. The program contains 60 assisted living apartments. Burns and Burns, L.C., developer of Iowa’s first purpose-built affordable assisted living facility (Emerson Point in Iowa City), has replicated its housing with services model in the Des Moines area. Working in partnership with Mercy Home Health, the staff of Walden Point focus on meeting the needs of low-income frail seniors requiring assisted living services. |
