- Governor
Culver announced that in July six cities and water providers were approved for
Planning
& Design Loans to aid water infrastructure development.
- The
communities of Ireton, Sheffield, Toledo, Rock Valley and Wheatland were the first
to apply for funds from the new Wastewater
Treatment Financial Assistance Program. The Legislature created the program
in 2006 to assist communities with projects designed to comply with new water quality
standards. The next application deadline is October 15, 2007.

Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors will meet on September 12 in LeMars. On
the day prior, board member Kay Anderson will host a tour of LeMars area community
and economic development projects, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. To
