To continue to provide an affordable mortgage financing option for first-time home buyers, IFA recently introduced a lower, improved FirstHome and FirstHome Plus interest rate for FHA, VA or RD mortgages.
IFA received 123 applications for the Homeless Assistance Program grant which is a combination of Federal Emergency grant funds and State Homeless Shelter Operations grant funds. Awards will be announced in the spring.
IFA recently launched a new portion of its Web site that provides useful information for developers and operators of affordable assisted living programs. The pages are also a great resource for people who are looking for affordable assisting living options.

At its December board meeting the Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors approved Planning & Design Loans to the communities of Hedrick, Urbana, Norway, Elkader, St. Charles and the Rathbun Regional Water Association. Read the news release.
IFA recently enhanced its Web site to include information about its linked deposit programs, the Local Water Protection Program, the Onsite Water Assistance Program, the Stormwater Loan Program and the Livestock Water Quality Program.

This spring Title Guaranty will host five regional academies for lenders, abstractors and attorneys. The events will take place in Mason City (April 22), Coralville (April 23), Des Moines (April 24), Sioux City (May 7) and Council Bluffs (May 8). Contact Linda Berg to learn more.

The American Council of Young Political Leaders, a bipartisan, non-profit educational exchange organization, recently selected IFA Director of Governmental Affairs, Joseph Jones, as a delegate to Pakistan & India for a two-week political study. Along with six other delegates from around the United States, Joseph visited both countries between November 30 and December 15. Congratulations, Joseph!
