- IFA
recently launched the
Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Rural AHP Subsidy Grant Program that
provides down payment assistance for first-time home buyers in rural areas.
- IFA
is currently accepting public comments on the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program’s
2008 Qualified Allocation Plan.
- The
allocation plan for the 2008
State Housing Trust Fund round is currently available.
- IFA
is pleased to announce that Dave Vaske will begin work as the Low-Income Housing
Tax Credit Manager on or about August 1. Dave has a wealth of experience in business
development, commercial lending and nonprofit financial management. Dave comes to
IFA from the Holy Trinity Parish in Ft. Dodge, where he was the Director of Finance
and Operations. Previously, Dave worked at banks in Fort Dodge, Sheldon and Oskaloosa.
He holds a graduate degree from the School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin
in Madison, WI, and a bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.

- IFA
is currently accepting applications for the
Wastewater Treatment Financial Assistance Program that helps small communities
finance changes needed to comply with new water quality standards.
- Two
new State Revolving Fund marketing pieces are currently available. A
Planning & Design Program brochure is available on-line, and a new SRF slide
rule that shows the program’s savings is available by request.
- Key decision makers from 13 Iowa
communities will attend focus groups on July 18 that are intended to help IFA and
Department of Natural Resources staff better understand potential SRF customers,
including how they make financing decisions for water and wastewater infrastructure
improvements, how they view SRF programs, their awareness of recent changes and
improvements in the SRF program, opinions about the DNR and IFA, and how they can best reach out and market their programs to Iowa communities. To learn
