State Housing Trust Fund’s Project-Based Housing Program to six organizations around
Iowa. Read the

- This week the IFA Board of Directors approved the allocation plan for the Local
Housing Trust Fund program. The plan becomes effective September 3 and is available
here.

- IFA is currently seeking proposals from qualified firms to serve as Servicer for
the Single-Family Mortgage Loans originated under the Authority’s Single-Family
bond program. Proposals must be received no later than 1:00 p.m., CST, Friday, August

- Only enough money remains in IFA’s
RuralHome program to fund a handful of loans. Participating Lenders who have
RuralHome loans in the process should contact
Sharon Murphy immediately to ensure that adequate funds remain to assist
borrower(s). IFA is currently working on a grant application to acquire additional
resources to maintain this important program.

- The 2008
HousingIowa Conference will take place October 2 – 3 in Des Moines. Information
about the conference, including registration, sponsorships, exhibits and awards,
is available now.
- IFA administers www.HousingInIowa.org,
a web site that showcases available rental
properties around the state. Property mangers and owners are encouraged to upload
information about their units to the site. Iowans are welcome to use the site as
a resource for temporary and permanent rental housing. IFA is currently publicizing
the site with a two-week paid and unpaid media campaign in eastern Iowa, where many
residents are looking for shelter after this summer’s natural disasters.
- The IFA Board of Directors will hold its August meeting in Cedar Rapids at a site
to be determined. Tentatively, the day will also include a tour of the area and
an opportunity to hear from community leaders about housing and water quality needs
and issues. If you would like to participate in this day, please RSVP to

- IFA’s Board of Directors recently elected a new slate of officers that includes
Roger Caudron, Chair; Doug Walter, Vice Chair; and Carmela Brown, Treasurer. Learn
