- IFA
welcomes two new employees, whom many of you already know. Joe O’Hern and Irene
Hardisty, both formerly of Fannie Mae in Des Moines, will begin October 5 at IFA.
Joe will lead the development of HousingIowa, an IFA-led collaborative effort of
public-private interests to produce affordable housing in Iowa. Irene will be IFA’s
Single Family Production Manager. IFA is thrilled that Joe and Irene will call IFA
home.
- The
2008 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Qualified Allocation Plan and Application will
be available in final form beginning October 3.
- The
Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Compliance Training that was scheduled for October
29-31 is postponed until the early part of 2008. Look for updated information soon.

- At
its September board meeting the Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors approved
Planning & Design Loans to the communities of Remsen and Macedonia and Lenox
Municipal Utilities and Council Bluffs Water Works.
- Also
in September, these communities were approved for awards from the new
Wastewater Treatment Financial Assistance Program: Toledo, Ireton, Wheatland
and Rock Valley. The funds will help these communities comply with new, more stringent
guidelines for wastewater discharge.

- As
part of the upcoming HousingIowa Conference, IFA is coordinating a
book drive to benefit shelters for the homeless and transitional housing
facilities located around Iowa. If you’re not able to attend the conference, please
drop off your donation of new or gently used books at the IFA office. Donations
are accepted now through October 24.
- The
Iowa Finance Authority
Board of Directors recently elected Kay Anderson (LeMars) as its Chair and
Roger Caudron (Sioux City) as its Vice Chair.
- Congratulations
