- The Governor’s Rebuild Iowa Office recently announced the availability of applications
for the new Jumpstart Housing Assistance Program. The
Jumpstart Housing Assistance
Program is intended to aid individuals whose homes were destroyed or damaged by
the natural disasters of 2008.
- IFA’s
FirstHome & FirstHome Plus brochure has been updated to include new income limits
for counties that have been declared disaster areas. Recent changes to the program
mean people who live in these counties may take advantage of the low-interest loan
program even if they have owned a home previously.
- In late August Governor Culver announced that the state of Iowa is setting aside
millions of dollars in federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to aid the development
of affordable multifamily housing in counties that were hit hard by this summer’s
historic flooding and severe weather.

posted.
- Formal comments about the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program’s
2009 First Amended Qualified Allocation Plan are accepted through September

Finance Authority.
